Shaddai School Project
How we started
On 22 January 2024, we started Shaddai International School with just five children. We saw the need in the neighbourhood and knew the school would be a valuable investment in our community.
The school is located at our headquarters in Gomoa Fetteh, an area with no electricity, no running water, and no basic infrastructure. Most schools are too far away, and because many parents cannot afford transportation or school fees, their children are kept at home.
Often, only boys are encouraged and supported to pursue education, while girls are forgotten. And because the children stay at home, many mothers are forced to stay home as well to care for them.
All of this led us to start Project Shaddai to free up mothers so they can work, and to give children the opportunity to grow and develop.
Where we’re going
Our goal is to take the concept of Project Shaddai and replicate it in communities across Ghana, and eventually, throughout Africa.
We envision schools all over the continent, partly sponsored by everyday people in the Western world: mothers, nurses, teachers and cashiers. People from all walks of life, giving a small part of their income to support a child miles away.
In doing so, we don’t just create a more connected world, we work together to ensure that every woman and child has a fair chance at life.
Where we are now
We currently have a 5 classroom school from nursery to class 1 with 80 children in total. We aim to expand our current school to 12 classrooms until class 6. Partner with us to give the children in Gomoa Fetteh an amazing childhood experience.
